Holiday greetings

A friend suffered terrible misfortune, without going into details of his untimely passing,(only to say it was extremely sudden) I'd rather mention the way his demise has affected his family & friends.
There was to be a glitzy New Years party, instead one of his family is burning her calender from 2010.
I cannot imagine the pain of his family unwrapping the gifts he'd bought them, nor the pain in seeing the gifts they'd gotten for him sitting beneath the tree after Christmas is over. I imagine these gifts will be given to Goodwill.
His wife and children, sat in the ICU for 1 long week, clinging steadfast to hopes that he may pull through. He was removed from life support on the 18th, when all hope died.
Those 8 days of hope and prayer are over, the grieving is just beginning.
(I hate writing such a glum post, but needed to express this)
Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend.

My comments about clothing probably came at a really jarringly BAD TIME then. Akh, and I wasn't being sarcastic, i was asking an honest query. I'm so sorry.

I hope all goes well over the Torture (sorry Holiday) Season.

And here's wishing you a far better 2011 than bag-o-shite 2010 was!!

All the best

Hey Gleds,

Don't worry.
Like I wrote in the post, the death was so unexpected and I will write the post you requested, it gives me a chance to escape my monotonous grief.
Thank you, my friend for giving me something different to write about.
All the best to you,
j.

A friend of mine lost her husband a month ago. He was on his way home to celebrate his daughter's birthday when a woman crossed over 3 lanes of traffic and hit him head on. I was a bridesmaid at their wedding.Really makes you stop and think what's important.

Our Christmas will be low key as well, although I've just finished cooking romeritos and bacalau, the traditional christmas dishes that the Fab husband requires to celebrate the holidays!

Keep up the posting!

My apologies. What a terrible ordeal for your friend and those who loved him. Its never easy to lose someone you love - esp when its sudden and esp this time of year.

Thanks BosGuy,
Very hard to accept death as a part of life.
I thank you for your kind words.
